About Us

We are Letters to Africa (LTA) — a movement driven by a passion for justice, accountability, and empowerment.

While our roots are in Zimbabwe, our vision extends to all of Africa, where we believe in the transformative power of digital tools, advocacy, and community action. LTA isn’t just a platform; it’s a civic movement aimed at creating lasting change through collaboration and real action.

Our mission is simple: to demand accountability, amplify untold stories, and empower young Africans to become leaders in their communities and beyond. We track unresolved cases of injustice, organize campaigns, and train young people to use digital tools to advocate for change in their societies.

We Wrote Letters. Now, We Build Movements.

Letters to Africa began not in a boardroom, but in heartbreak — the frustration of being a Black African woman living abroad, watching a continent full of brilliance get dismissed, overlooked, or buried beneath systems that refuse to change.

At its core, LTA was a letter.

A letter to home.
A letter to our people.
A letter to the future.

It became more than a message. It became a movement.

One focused on equipping everyday people with tools to survive, thrive, and lead in a digital world. It started with a handful of stories and is now evolving into an ecosystem of digital transformation.

Black Speaker

We envision an Africa where access is not privilege, but a right.

A connected Africa.

A skilled Africa.

An empowered Africa — where knowledge flows freely, opportunity is shared openly, and leadership rises from the grassroots up.

Letters to Africa is how we get there.

Our Vision

Our vision is to build a digital ecosystem where youth and communities have the tools, knowledge, and platforms to speak out, organize, and create change. Starting with Zimbabwe, we are laying the foundation for broader continental initiatives that connect communities across Africa, unite voices for social justice, and challenge systems of power that perpetuate injustice, corruption, and repression.

At LTA, we believe in the power of young people to reshape the future of Africa. By focusing on accountability, civic participation, and advocacy, we aim to ignite positive change that echoes throughout the continent.

The Problem We’re Solving

The Access Gap Is Real.

There’s a disconnect between potential and power — especially in Africa.

Here’s what we’re up against:

  • Young people with talent, but no digital tools

  • Communities with vision, but no visibility

  • A continent with brilliance, but blocked from platforms

  • High unemployment and exclusion from the digital economy

  • Silence around mental health, leadership, and civic empowerment

Letters to Africa was created to close these gaps — practically, creatively, and collectively.

Our Work

LTA is committed to creating a platform where every voice matters and every action counts. We empower individuals, organizations, and communities to engage in digital activism, advocacy, and leadership training. While we focus initially on Zimbabwe, we are building a model that can scale to other African countries, encouraging collaboration and shared resources to drive transparency, democracy, and human rights across the continent.

What We Do:

  • Track Unresolved Cases: From corruption to political violence, we track the stories that need to be heard, ensuring that they are never silenced.

  • Advocacy & Campaigning: We provide digital tools, training, and resources to help individuals and organizations organize campaigns, write letters, and push for action on key issues.

  • Youth Empowerment & Leadership Development: We offer training programs, resources, and opportunities for young people to develop leadership skills and become active participants in shaping the future of Africa.

The Solution We Offer

A Scalable, Grassroots Digital Empowerment Model

We built LTA to:

  • Train participants through accessible, high-impact digital courses

  • Mentor individuals with real-life guidance and community support

  • Connect them to paid work, collaboration, or influence

  • Position them to become leaders and trainers in their own right

This isn’t a one-time workshop or a feel-good campaign. It’s a launchpad for real futures — across borders, languages, and backgrounds.

Our Approach

At LTA, we focus on digital tools as the vehicle for empowerment. We understand that technology is a powerful resource for youth, activists, and advocates, and we make these tools accessible to anyone who wants to make a difference. Education, training, and real-life projects are at the heart of our work, ensuring that young people are not just informed but also equipped to act.

Starting with Zimbabwe, we aim to build a community of changemakers who are empowered, educated, and motivated to drive meaningful change. Our work focuses on civic engagement, leadership, and advocacy, offering young people the platform they need to lead and create solutions for their communities.

Why Zimbabwe?

While our mission extends to Africa, Zimbabwe is where our journey begins. We recognize that Zimbabwe faces unique challenges in terms of political repression, corruption, and human rights abuses, but we also see it as a place of incredible resilience, youth-led movements, and untapped potential.

By starting in Zimbabwe, we can lay a strong foundation for the future of LTA across the continent, ensuring that the tools and platform we create are rooted in real challenges while paving the way for future growth across Africa.

Our Future

The work we’re doing in Zimbabwe is just the beginning. We see a future where LTA is an African-led platform that provides tools, resources, and training for youth across the continent to drive their own campaigns for justice and change. We aim to build partnerships with NGOs, activist groups, educators, and community leaders across Africa to create a united front for social change and youth empowerment.
